3 Ways to Instantly Elevate Your Social Media

Social media will either excite you—or fill you with complete dread.

If you find social media overwhelming, you’re not alone. Running a business and having to stay relevant and present on Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, Youtube… all of it makes us want to scream!

And if that’s not enough, your pages have to look good. Society is moving faster than ever and, news flash: no one wants to see blurry or grainy photos or tacky graphics anymore. They just don’t work.

If you can’t afford to hire someone to do your social media or outsource the work for you right now, keep reading. There’s hope!

Here are three easy (and free) ways you can start elevating your social media TODAY:

  1. Start using Canva. If you want clean, streamlined graphics to help spread brand awareness or announce sales or events, use Canva. There are hundreds of templates to choose from and the best part—you can get started for FREE! I use Canva frequently for myself and my clients. It’s easy to use and will make you look professional and established.

  2. Take high quality photos. I know this goes without saying, and you’re probably thinking, “DUH! Who wants to post horrible photos?” But trust me—I’m on social media a lot and I still see businesses making this mistake. Most smart phones have good cameras these days. You no longer need to start with a fancy, state-of-the-art DSLR, tons of lenses, or production equipment. Watch some Youtube videos, research some simple tips and tricks you can use to take nice looking photos and you’ll be well on your way to better content in no time!

  3. Stop over-using emojis. Trust me. Do you want to look more professional, or like a 13 year old runs your social media? Less is more! I see this mistake being made often on business pages, too. Emojis are meant to be sprinkled in here & there, not used after every sentence or to replace words in your caption. This makes your caption harder to read; thus your message will get lost in translation.

Hopefully, you found some of these tips to be helpful. There’s much more where that came from, so follow me on social to keep up!
